Im Hauch des Abendwindes
(The Mundi Mundi Legend)
Sydney 1968
After losing her job and her fiancé, Ruby Rosewell’s luck changes when her unknown wealthy father leaves her a half share of a bush race horse. She travels to the tiny outback town of Silverton to sell her share to the trainer of Silver Arrow, Jed Munro, but she’s treated with suspicion by the townsfolk, who suspect her motives. A crooked bookie has hired thugs to beat Jed up so that he can’t enter the Alice Springs Cup, but the thugs go one step further, and try to kill the horse. The horse’s jockey is a local aboriginal girl and she teaches Ruby to ride the mare. When the Silver Arrow needs vet care, Ruby steps up and begins cutting the locals hair to raise funds to help the horse. But can she help Jed achieve his dream and get the horse to Alice Springs safely. And will her romance with Jed be jeopardized when he believes she slept with one of the country’s best jockey’s just so he’d ride Silver Arrow in the cup.
